Bass was truly my first love.

I've been playing the electric bass for about eight years now. I still remember the first day I played. I'd just returned from the pawn shop where I spent two hundred bucks on a crappy white Fender bass. I sat down and figured out 'Hey Man Nice Shot' by Filter.

(It's that song that goes "duhnuhnuhnuh, duhduhnuhnuh, duhhhh.")

Time has definitely passed since then. I now play a beautiful woodgrain Warwick fretted 4-string bass - she's been my sweetheart for over seven years.

PAST EXPERIENCE
The Dragonflies - This hot 4pc project incorporates many styles, including middle eastern fiddle music, celtic fiddle mayhem, bluegrass, folk, funk, rock and more!
Maryjayne - 4pc psychedelic alt rock/brit rock band. still playing (without me) around toronto, ontario.
Chameleon - 5pc funk, jam, house, trance band. two or three gigs a week. very popular with victoria bc locals. featured complex compositions, extended improv, and harmony vocals.
Too many other jams, half-bands and other small projects to list!

My style is all about groove. I'm on stage to support my fellow musicians, to man the engine room while the crew members steer the ship. Tightness is my first priority. I've got stage experience, I know how to talk to a crowd, and I love to play tight compositions with clever changes.

I excel at fingerstyle bass, and love to slap also. I love funky, syncopated feels and deep, deep, DEEP grooves. I will grudgingly take a solo if forced to *wink wink*

Favorite styles: reggae, house, funk, african, latin, drum n' bass, bluegrass, edgy pop, fusion... I WILL TRY ANYTHING.
